GRIT platform guide
How it works
Everything you need to know — from registering for a tournament to seeing your name on the leaderboard. Jump to a section below.
Section 01
Payment & Registration
GRIT uses InstaPay— Egypt's instant bank transfer system. No card details are stored. Entry fees go directly to the tournament organizer and your spot is reserved the moment your payment is verified.
Step-by-step flow
Registration statuses
| Status | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Payment due | You registered but haven't uploaded a screenshot yet | Open your Dashboard and upload your receipt |
| Awaiting confirmation | Screenshot uploaded, organizer reviewing | Nothing to do — usually confirmed within a few hours |
| Confirmed | You're in the draw | Open the tournament page from your Dashboard to see your bracket |
| Waitlisted | Tournament full or live-day registration | Nothing to do — you'll be contacted if a spot opens |
| Cancelled | Registration was rejected or cancelled | Message the organizer via Contact for details |
Tournament live day: On the day of the event, all new registrations automatically go to the waitlist — since the bracket is already drawn. If a confirmed team drops out, the organizer can pull the next waitlisted team in to replace them.
Section 02
Padel — Scoring & Points
Padel on GRIT is always doubles (2 players per team). Both players on a team earn the same points. Your final score is the base event points × your skill level multiplier × the tournament tier multiplier.
Base points — per event
| Achievement | Base points |
|---|---|
| Tournament participation (any finish) | +50 |
| Match win | +100 |
| 3rd place | +150 |
| Runner-up (finalist) | +250 |
| Tournament winner 🏆 | +500 |
Skill level multiplier (Padel only)
Applied to all padel match points (not applied to football). Set at profile creation — you can update it in /profile.
| Level | Multiplier | Example — Match win (100 base) |
|---|---|---|
| Beginner | ×0.75 | 100 × 0.75 = 75 pts |
| Intermediate | ×1.0 | 100 × 1.0 = 100 pts |
| Advanced | ×1.25 | 100 × 1.25 = 125 pts |
Full calculation example — Padel
Advanced player wins a Tier B tournament:
500 (winner) × 1.25 (advanced) × 1.5 (tier B) = 937 pts
250 (runner-up) × 1.25 × 1.5 = 469 pts
100 (match win) × 1.25 × 1.5 = 188 pts
Team format
Padel is doubles only — teams of exactly 2 players. Both players receive the same base + multiplied points for every result. There is no singles format on GRIT.
Section 03
Football — Scoring & Points
Football on GRIT is team-based — squads of 5, 6, 7, or 8 players depending on what the organizer sets when creating the event. Every player in the squad earns match-result points. Individual stats (goals, assists, goalkeeper clean sheets) are tracked separately for the dedicated football leaderboards.
Match result points — per player in squad
| Result | Points per player |
|---|---|
| Win | +40 per player |
| Draw | +10 per player |
| Loss | +0 |
Individual stat points
These appear on your player profile and in the Top Scorers / Top Assists leaderboards.
| Stat | Points |
|---|---|
| Goal scored | +30 |
| Assist | +20 |
| Goalkeeper clean sheet | +25 |
Tournament bonuses
| Achievement | Bonus points (per player) |
|---|---|
| Tournament winner 🏆 | +400 |
| Runner-up | +0 (match results only) |
Full calculation example — Football
Striker in a Tier C 5-a-side, team wins tournament:
Team format — squad sizes
| Format | Players per team | Style |
|---|---|---|
| 5-a-side | 5 players | Fast, small goals, high scoring |
| 6-a-side | 6 players | Balanced attack/defence |
| 7-a-side | 7 players | Closest to full football feel |
| 8-a-side | 8 players | Largest squad format on GRIT |
The squad size is set by the organizer when creating the event. You and your teammates all register using the team join-code system. The captain creates the team, gets the code, and shares it — everyone else joins via that code.
Section 04
Tournament Tier Multipliers
Every tournament on GRIT has a tier, set by the organizer. Tiers determine how many points are worth playing for — a Tier D casual event is worth fewer ranking points than a Tier A championship. The tier multiplier applies to both padel and football.
| Tier | Multiplier | Difficulty | Padel winner example | Football win example |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| D | ×0.75 | Easiest — open to all levels | 500 × 0.75 = 375 pts | 40 × 0.75 = 30 pts |
| C | ×1.0 | Moderate — beginner to intermediate | 500 × 1.0 = 500 pts | 40 × 1.0 = 40 pts |
| B | ×1.5 | Hard — intermediate to advanced | 500 × 1.5 = 750 pts | 40 × 1.5 = 60 pts |
| A | ×2.0 | Hardest — advanced players only | 500 × 2.0 = 1,000 pts | 40 × 2.0 = 80 pts |
Note:Padel points are also multiplied by the individual player's skill level (Beginner ×0.75, Intermediate ×1.0, Advanced ×1.25) on top of the tier multiplier. Football has no skill-level multiplier — only the tier multiplier applies.
